Eeyore and Pooh Bear Disneybound

Eeyore and Pooh Bear Disneybound by laura-rix

So, I didn't Disneybound at Disney World in June 2016, but I have some possible plans to maybe visit DLP very very soon. Pre-empting the probably not happening trip, I went ahead and purchased a few bits from Boohoo and Accessorize.. You know.. Just in case..

The bulk of the outfits are from Boohoo, as I find them to be incredibly affordable and everything I love in a simplistic outfit can be found.
For Eeyore, I went for a simple grey tshirt dress for £10, and a pink cardigan for £12. Eeyore wouldn't be complete without his bow, so I picked up this choker from Accessorize for £6. I also found these super cute pompom ears on Boohoo for £3.. Even if I don't use them to bound in, they're a steal!

For Pooh, I didn't just want a simple dress, so I went for an extra frill. This was £15. The batwing cardigan was on sale for £6. I just love mt cardis to be a bit slouchy! I've teamed this with a bee necklace from Accessorize at £4.

I think these outfits capture the essence of Disneybounding without being too obvious, and captures some of my style - I always go for a sloucy cardi when I can. I would wear these items everyday without bounding, and the pieces can be used for other bounds as well. The dress was originally for Dumbo, for example. I feel like the choker would also be purrrfect for Marie!

I did it, I graduated the University of Lincoln with a 2:1 in history, and I've moved onto my Masters in Urban Conservation.
The past three years have had ups and downs, I've blogged about many of these trials and tribulations, and I've come out of it a better person.
Anything I say here will be the most generic thing ever, but listen to people who have been to uni and everything you hear is true.. Everything.

Maybe it was just the context of the advert.. But I'll get back to that.
Wilkinson Sword's Quottro (lady shaver) adverts get even worse every year. This years can be found here, it is headlined Discover the little things Olivia does to stay spontaneous. Previously they've had complaints about how we should style our lady garden (some examples can be found here and here).
Now we're being told how to be 'bikini ready' in case we want to be spontaneous.

Now I don't know about you, but when I want to be spontaneous, the last thing I'm thinking about is my bush!

A quote from the advert states 'you've always got to be ready down there, if you wanna jump in that pool, do it!'
Bit of mixed messaging going on down there! Look, seriously, if you want to be spontaneous you DO NOT have to be 'ready' down there. Being ready implies a beauty standard of being shaved. You do not have to be shaved to be ready.

It is the only product for women which (overtly) sexualises and shames a female body part for having hair on it on their website description. Why?! Is my foo not sexy when it isn't shaved? Does it make me less able to jump into a pool? Of course not!

As we all do in this day and age, I took to Twitter and Facebook to be met with the same people having the same issues with the advert/s as me. And we were all met with the same response: whether we shave or not is up to us, and if we want to Quottro is there. Shaving is a personal choice.

Yes. Yes it is. Sometimes I shave and sometimes I don't, I don't shame those who do and I don't shame those who don't. But this isn't the message the advert gives. It does shame those who don't choose to shave.

The message of the advert tells us that to be accepted at a pool party/beach where a bikini is involved, we need to wear a particular hair style - a shaved bikini line. Nope. Not true.

The response @BatRachy gave on Twitter perfectly summed this up, saying "Beach ready" suggests there's certain standards to attain before getting there. Just need a beach

And what context was I watching the advert in? It was between segments of the show Sex Box on Channel 4, a fairly liberal program exploring the sex life of people in the UK, helping individuals and couples explore each other and their sexuality.
If we can be this liberal about sex, why can't we be as liberal with the body parts we use to perform sexual acts? Maybe it was the context. But pube shaming is real.
Look, seriously. I was tested for PCOS and I've got it. Sure I don't have excessive hair, but guess what? The entire time I was being poked and prodded in my nether regions (for about three to four months) I didn't shave. If I don't shave for my Doctor, or even my boyfriend, I'm not going to shave to be spontaneous.

I will be shaving for my trip to Orlando - but I want a good tan. That's my personal choice. Maybe tanning is a beauty standard too, but it's for myself and not to conform.

Whether you decide to shave or not, do it for yourself and not these rubbish beauty standards intended to sell a product.

I've been waiting for this.. The original film was cheesy yet loveable, it wasn't the best, but this prequel/sequel is going to be amazing. I'm talking, of course, about The Huntsman: Winter's War.

I have taken inspiration from Ravenna's look in the promotional posters, and come up with this make up involving a dark smokey eye with a pop of gold.

I chose a gold pigmented highlighter to replicate Ravenna's glow.

Choosing a lipstick shade was hard.. I tried a rose colour, and it wasn't right. I layered a coral/gold colour on top, but it still wasn't working.. In fact, a naked lip has worked better than any colour I could have chosen!

I placed a golden eyeshadow over my entire eyelid including the crease.
The upper and lower lashes were then tight-lined to create a sense of thicker lashes at the roots.
I then went in with a black eyeshadow and angled eyeliner brush to work on the inner and outer corners, gradually adding more pigment.
The corners were joined up by placing the black shadow in the crease and continuing to blend outwards.
To add a deeper gold colour, I added a cream eyeshadow to the centre of the eye.
I went back over my waterlines and lash lines with a kohl pencil and gold eyeshadow in the inner corner, and added a volumising mascara to my upper and lower lashes.

Before applying my eye makeup, I applied a pore minimiser and a glowing base to where I would usually highlight, again to replicate Ravenna's glow.
Following my eye make up, I concealed my problem areas.
I then went in lightly with a contour kit, and used the brightening shade more heavily.
Similarly to the contour kit, I used a light dusting of a light pink blush, but went in heavily with a golden pigmented highlight.

I've been hoarding these photos for a while, but I'm loving the makeup! My skills have since incredibly deteriorated, and I can only guess what I used, as these are now over a year old! This is how awful I've been at blogging this year!

The product which I am certain on is MUAs Undress your Skin in Pink Shimmer, as this was pretty much my fave and the only one I really used.

Due to my more tanned complexion, it is likely that L'Oreal's True Match Minerals in Golden Ivory.

There is a shine to my red lipstick, and I only own one lipstick with this nature, which is Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter in Candy Apple.

Update: We have now paid off our holiday! See my first post on the steps towards our journey here.

The first park (and probably the main reason I want to go to Orlando) we decided and bought tickets for was Disney World. These tickets were bought through the Official Disney World UK website, as this is the cheapest deal available currently. The tickets bought in March were £299 for all six parks; Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studions, and the two water parks, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. This deal is two weeks for the price of one.

Edit: the price of tickets has now gone up to £309 p/p for two weeks.

My Disney Experience
I linked my Disney tickets with the My Disney Experience App, which allows you to book Fast Passes (FP+) 30 days in advance as we are staying off property. It also allows you to connect the Photo Pass system straight to your phone, allowing you to (nearly instantly) view the images taken around the parks! Photo Pass and FP+ were also included in our ticket prices, which is a brilliant deal!

Staying Off Property
Due to buying the tickets this way and staying off property, it does mean that we have to visit Will Call at Ticket and Transportation before making it to the park. We are therefore making this the first thing we do after our flight day, and will be spending the day at Magic Kingdom!

The other issue we have faced staying off property is transport to Disney. We have the options of public transport at $14, a shuttle at $16 return, or hailing an Uber cab at $16 per journey. I think this will depend on day and situation as to which transport we use. However, this still ends up cheaper than staying on property, and for our budgeting pockets it works well - and we love an adventure or two.

Thanks for reading, and don't forget to follow me on Bloglovin' to keep up to date with my blog posts and holiday updates!

Today I want to share my current favourite lipsticks.. I'm a sucker for dark nudes but I have thrown a cheeky berry shade in! I've also been loving spiced colours, they're gorgeous and really help to boost my lip colour just past its natural shade.

UD's lipstick is really creamy with a lot of staying power. It doesn't dehydrate/dry out my lips, and I also do not need to replenish my lips too often. It's perfect for those days where you don't want to wear too much makeup, but still feel done up.

MAC's Velvet Teddy has seriously been doing its rounds this year due to the Jenner's! It's the perfect matte nude, and totally worth the money. I am in love, totally and truly. It is another lipstick which conditions and stays on the lip really well.

The Superstay is a slightly different something that I've steered clear of for a while, but I'm not sure why.. Maybe experience with Soap and Glories previous sticky formula! But this is totally different! It feels like a liquid lipstick, and dries quickly. It also comes with a balm, which I'm not a fan of but did not buy the product for. I do find it useful, however, to apply before the lip colour. I feel like this was a product that may have been found to be drying in the testing process, but simply put a balm with it to counter-act this.. Not too great a selling point, but I'm in LOVE with the colour, especially combined with Rimmel's Spice Lip Liner.

Rimmel's Lip Liner in Spice is so versatile and a really great product! I feel like it can be used all over the lip or simply to line the lip to bring out bricker/spcier tones in what is applied over the top, it brings out a POP of colour.

Finally is Berry Much, my new favourite berry shade which contains no glitter! It isn't too dark for my skin tone which is fab, and comes in a pencil form, but somehow really does still feel nourishing on the lip.
