In August, I travelled up to Newark to attend the Newark Blogger Meet arranged by Frankie at CrazyBlondeGal! This was a meet with a twist - we had a pizza party at Pizza Express!

I travelled on the train and had a chilly wait at the station, but when I got to Newark it was a lot warmer than Nottingham!
I then realised I'd completely forgotten to do my nails - what a state..

I got into Newark a bit early and got myself a meal deal from Boots whilst resisting the temptations of make-up. I also went into Superdrug to have a little mooch around - still resisting buying anything! I also went into the regular high street shops such as New Look and Topshop..

After an hour I met up with everyone, and we did a spot of shopping - Revlon lip colours were on two for £10 - how could I resist! I bought Colourburst Lip Butter in Candy Apple (bottom), and Colourburst Lacquer Balm in Whimsical Fantasiste (top). I loved hearing what beauty brands people buy from and we all had a lot in common! It was so relaxing being in a small group and able to talk to one another. I was absolutely in love with Siobhan's jumper - and yes, I did go and buy it..

We then made our way to Pizza Express where we were given a starter of dough balls with garlic butter which were uh-mazing!
Frankie also gave us some lovely gift bags - we all oohed and aaahd at the bags to begin with, wondering where they were from.. In a previous post I have mentioned about people being surprised with where bags came from - Primark!

I did not want to delve too far into my bag, as I wanted to save it for something to do on the train journey home..

Anyway, yes, the dough balls.. Oh my.. Please could I have a gorgeous man to deliver these to my mouth everyday.. Divine!

We were then taken to a table and given dough to make into a flat circle by pushing it down and forming a crust.. Pizza making is not my forte in life! My pizza didn't really have a crust at all! We then chose toppings - although pizza bases aren't my thing, my choice in pizza toppings was delicious!

 The disastrous non-spread-sauce-no-crusted-pizza-base!

My pizza had mushrooms and onions, ham, goats cheese, spinach, mozzarella and garlic oil - it was more tasty than it sounds I promise!

It was then time for the calzone challenge. After coming up with the imaginative team names - team one and team two - we nominated someone from each team to make a calzone in four minutes - those nominated were Frankie and Jemma. Flying doughballs, Siobhan's selfies, and a lot of pressure were added to this challenge, and it looked as if it was going to be a close one..

..But our team's calzone was finished first!
When it came out, it looked like it had been stabbed.. And looked even worse once the team had devoured it..

After all the food and drink had been consumed, we went down to the canal and said our goodbyes, and I caught my train home with Karishma and we looked through our goodie bags together, and swooned at the makeup, brushes, jewellery and other goodies whilst munching on jelly beans and Frankie's home made mini pizza cookies that were really really really scrummy - I'd love her to send me some, *wink wink nudge nudge*!

In all it was a super lovely day and I loved meeting everyone!
Thank-you so much to Frankie for planning and organising such an amazing, fun and comfortable day!

Thanks for reading!

Sometimes I want to feel super confident whilst wearing my glasses, which I don't usually and end up giving in to contact lenses. I've been trying out new ways to make my make up still look super rad whilst wearing glasses:

I've come up with something that seems to work with the help of Urban Decay's Moon Dust eye shadow in Zodiac. A glittery eye catching dark shade with green sparkles.
I put this all over the lid, and then blended Loaded (from the Smoked Palette) into the crease. I then both up and down blended this shade.
Finally I finished the look with the 24/7 Perversion Pencil Liner on the upper and lower lash line, and a couple of coats of Benefit's They're Real Mascara.

For my face, I simply used Rimmel's Wake Me Up Concealer and Stay Matte powder on my T-Zone. I then went in with Benefit's Hoola for a slightly more tanned look and MUA's Highlighter powder. I am also wearing NARS Orgasm, and have left my lips bare.
