SPRING MUSIC PICKS

Taking me back to my childhood taste in music when it began to 'mature', Fightstar have been doing their rounds around the UK on the Grand Re-unification tour and are set to play and headline the third stage at Download in June this year, after nearly six years out. They are bringing out new music later this year, and with their mix of soothing songs and raw vocals, I hope the best can continue with these boys.
Our Last Common Ancestor - One Day Son
Mercury Summer - Be Human
Paint Your Target - Grand Unification

BREAKING BENJAMIN - PHOBIA

Another band set to come back this year (with a new line up) is Breaking Benjamin. The Phobia album has some of the most beautiful tracks on, unlike other albums which delve more into Benjamin's harder vocals. A teaser from their latest album, a track called Failure, can be found here.

THE HAY FEVER POST 2015

You might remember a little post I did last year about suffering with hay fever, which can be found here. This year I'm doing another post, with some new ways of preventing the effects from Hay Max Allergen Barrier*.

I've heard people beginning to suffer from hay fever, even this early on, especially with Spring flowers such as daffodils entering the home. I, too, have begun to suffer due to the dust coming with Spring cleaning. Instead of reaching for the nearest antihistamine, I've been reaching for pots of balm. And yes, the balm really is effective at helping to stop the dust and pollen getting up your nose!

You apply the balm around the base of your nose to stop pollen and dust entering it. The product feels like an ordinary, light weight balm that isn't sticky to the touch, and then doesn't feel like you've got anything on your nose once applied!

The product is totally organic, winning awards from the Soil Association, Allergy UK and more! I love organic and cf products, letting me know that I'm not putting anything on or in my body that isn't supposed to be there. Adding to this, Hay Max is drug free, meaning it can be used during pregnancy, with children, and during exams.

My favourite balm is Aloe Vera. It has soothing qualities which calms down the redness during hay fever/dry nose season. The products also come in Lavender, which is quite a strong scent to begin with, yet the scent is cleansing and reduces the effects of hay fever, Pure, to aid those with particularly sensitive noses and skin, and Frankincense. Although Hay Max isn't a treatment, it really does work.

This year I'm not letting hay fever get the best of my Summer, carrying on using these pots throughout the season. Even though they are 5ml, and you reapply every time you wipe your nose, they do not go down too quickly - you get your moneys worth!

If you need any more info, head over to haymax.biz, and don't hesitate to ask me anything!

Hay Max have also sent me a few more items which you might be able to get your mitts on soon - keep your eyes peeled!

DOCS IN A BOX

The new SS15 range of Doc Martens were released last month, and I just had to get my mitts on a pair! I went for the White + Black Cristal Suede Pascals. They are designed to wear and flake away over time. Remember crackled nail varnish? This is effectively the same kinda thing!
This gives a unique look to every pair of boots - the boots become your own the more you wear them, trash them, love them.

I love the pascal fit, and they are wearing in very well! Easier than many other Docs.

Take a look at the rest of the range here!

IMPRACTICAL JOKERS

If there's one thing that makes my day, it's watching four grown men make fools out of themselves. Sound silly? A bit Jackass? Think again!

The series has been running since 2011 with, currently, four seasons, the fourth of which is being aired right now.

The show follows four guys, 'The Tenderloins', Joe, Murr, Q and Sal, as they compete to avoid the forfeit. This is highly embarrassing for the loser, but may not negatively affect the audience to which it is performed.

The show is in hidden camera style, and whilst one member is out in New York, the other three tell the other what to do. This can include 'nosing' - putting your nose upon a customer/member of the public whilst pretending to be a waiter. It can also include taking items from peoples' trollies without them noticing, and attempting to get the public join them playing American Football in a supermarket.

Am I selling this? Probably not. But it makes me howl with laughter. The four characters are relatable, humbling and hilarious. They do their jobs well, and don't cause too much stress with the public!

SECRET GARDEN

This sweet little bath bomb is ever so lightly scented, but hides the secret of flower petals, and moisturising qualities. It turns the bath into a lovely green, pink, yellow and purple swirl, before completely dissolving, leaving Spring green bath water.

It slowly fizzes away, and the final reveal is a surprise - there is a lot in there! I loved how my skin felt after this bath. My skin is horrendous with eczema at the moment, and I was completely surprised this helped to settle it down a little.

It contains rose absolute to help balance and restore, marigold petals to sooth and calm, and rose petals to tone and sooth.
