PLANNING A HOLIDAY PART 2, DISNEY WORLD

Update: We have now paid off our holiday! See my first post on the steps towards our journey here.

Tickets
The first park (and probably the main reason I want to go to Orlando) we decided and bought tickets for was Disney World. These tickets were bought through the Official Disney World UK website, as this is the cheapest deal available currently. The tickets bought in March were £299 for all six parks; Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studions, and the two water parks, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. This deal is two weeks for the price of one.

Edit: the price of tickets has now gone up to £309 p/p for two weeks.

My Disney Experience
I linked my Disney tickets with the My Disney Experience App, which allows you to book Fast Passes (FP+) 30 days in advance as we are staying off property. It also allows you to connect the Photo Pass system straight to your phone, allowing you to (nearly instantly) view the images taken around the parks! Photo Pass and FP+ were also included in our ticket prices, which is a brilliant deal!

Staying Off Property
Due to buying the tickets this way and staying off property, it does mean that we have to visit Will Call at Ticket and Transportation before making it to the park. We are therefore making this the first thing we do after our flight day, and will be spending the day at Magic Kingdom!

The other issue we have faced staying off property is transport to Disney. We have the options of public transport at $14, a shuttle at $16 return, or hailing an Uber cab at $16 per journey. I think this will depend on day and situation as to which transport we use. However, this still ends up cheaper than staying on property, and for our budgeting pockets it works well - and we love an adventure or two.

  1. What a bummer you had to stay off property. Not having to worry about getting to Disney World every day and being able to just go back to your room whenever you want is just so nice!
